Dear All

I have my latest test results, I am tired all the time, so would like some suggestions of what else I should look at. Got the GP to raise my levo to 150 a day.

Thank you for your help.

What dose of Levo were you on when this test was done?

When did you take your last dose of Levo before the test, last dose should be 24 hours before test.

Do you take B Complex, biotin or hair/nail supplements? If so did you leave them off for 3-7 days before the test?

Have you tested

Vit D

B12

Folate

Ferritin

If not you need these testing as we need optimal nutrient levels for thyroid hormone to work properly and good conversion of T4 to T3. If test done as outlined above your conversion isn't particularly good with FT4 at 84% through range and FT3 38.92% through range.

What was result and how much D3 do you take?

Do you also take D3's important cofactors - magnesium and Vit K2-MK7?

Were B12, Folate and Ferritin tested?

Suggest you get full thyroid and vitamin testing redone

Vitamin D - 10,000iu is high dose

Likely to need not reduce dose vitamin D now to maintenance dose

Yes likely to benefit from magnesium supplement. Minimum of 4 hours away from levothyroxine and taken afternoon or evening

Folate too low

Likely to benefit from taking daily vitamin B complex

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement

No iron or ferritin results
