I'm sticking my neck out here but I wonder if members feel that there is considerable need to rejig the website in order to enable them to better source information....or has that idea now been planted by the survey!
Forgive me if I'm wrong but is this by any chance based on Treejack a product used by the US department of energy.
I had a look at the Tasks and could not see the worth of this survey to TUK members, so I'm wondering what has been found inadequate with the current website... which was updated not so long ago as I recall.
Personally I've never had a problem navigating the excellent TUK website! Is it just me or do others see the need for change?
Might it be change for change's sake!
"If it ain't broke why (spend valuable resources to) fix it!"I'm assuming it's not a free service.
Also...I feel uncomfortable with the offer of a chance reward for completing surveys. Does it require a "carrot" to tempt people to select a few (random) responses.... in this case, in the hope of gaining an Amazon voucher!
If so, how reliable are the responses to these surveys.
I'm not casting aspersions on TUK members per se but refer to survey responders in general.
One of the reasons we want to change the website is that I do get a lot of queries from people that say they couldn't find something on the website. Another reason is that we want the important information to be more prominent.
I must admit when the new website was first introduced I disliked it. I could easily find my way around the old one and found the new one confusing and couldn't find anything.
However, as always it takes time to get used to new things and eventually I started to remember where things were but I can see how it can be difficult for anyone who isn't familiar with it to not be able to find what they need. I know where to look now but that has just come with repeated use/familiarity.
