cushing’s syndrome with graves disease

I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease in 2018. This was medically managed and my thyroid came back into normal range in mid-late 2019.

I have been monitored and was off carbimazole from late 2020.

In March this year, I contracted Covid. Since having Covid I noticed a change in my symptoms:

Sudden weight gain around the belly

Hair loss

Skin that bruises and does not heal properly

Lack of periods

Headaches

Tiredness

mood swings.

Blood test showed my Thyroid function (tsh and t4) was within normal range but one of my adrenal (acth) hormones was well above the normal range.

Further urine, blood and saliva tests are being ordered to rule out Cushing’s. I wanted to see if anyone else on here has had a similar journey with their thyroid disease recovery.

Hi, When they measured ACTH, did they also measure your cortisol? I would imagine they would have. Did the amount of cortisol correlate to the high ACTH? Can you share your results w/ranges? It's interesting you say you 'had' Graves and it resolved itself. And now your ACTH is high. It would be suspicious of something going on w/the pituitary gland. As this is the gland that regulates TSH and ACTH.
