I was diagnosed with Hashimotos a few years ago and currently take 175mg Levothyroxine daily. Whenever I have a test I follow the very useful advice from this forum ( first thing in the morning, no Levo 24 hours before etc, gluten-free).
My annual thyroid test results have come back. I know they are limited as my GP only allows testing for TSH and Free T4, but am wondering if anyone has any insights or advice.
I don't feel great: tired, thinning hair, sometimes wired sometimes low energy, anxiety, brain fog, sweaty. ( I could also be perimenopausal too).
Thanks
June 2022
TSH: 1.65 (0.27-4.2)
Free T4 : 14.9 pmol/L ( 11.0-21.2)

Your results show undermedication. Generally, a hypo patient on Levo only tends to feel best when TSH is 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges. You would probably benefit from an increase in your Levo to bring your TSH down and raise your FT4 which is only 38.24% through range.
It would also be a good idea to test key nutrients:
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
as these all should be at optimal levels for thyroid hormone to work properly. Fatigue and hair loss can be low ferritin.
Thanks, Seaside Susie, for your prompt advice. That makes senseWhen I have the funds I'm going to get tested for the vitamin and minerals. In the meantime I think I 'll up my Levo by 25 mcg. Cheers.
Thanks, Slow Dragon. My GP is very 'the tests are allnormal-it must be in your head', but I will ask her. It makes me feel tired having to deal with her!
