Hi I started taking a b complex on Monday and I’ve noticed my urine is a bright yellow colour and there’s a strong aroma coming from it,I’ve read that this is the body flushing out what it doesn’t need so I’m wondering if it’s better to take it every second day?

B Complex advice
Bright yellow/green urine is completely normal on vitamin B complex
SlowDragon it was green this afternoon🤦♀️This is ok right?
Yellow/green/orange …..
Have you changed to Thorne Basic B
Were you dehydrated…..urine concentrated
Yes I started the Thorne Basic B on Monday,I drink lots of water and it was just green🤷♀️I’ve read that it’s just the body getting rid of the water soluble vitamins it doesn’t need but these things make me paranoid🤦♀️
livestrong.com/article/4715...B-complex vitamins may also give the urine a green hue. However, this is a normal side effect and has no impact on your health. In fact, B vitamin deficiencies are a lot more harmful than overdosing.

Which B Complex are you taking and what are the amounts of each vitamin?
It's the riboflavin, B2, that causes the bright yellow urine. I don't see how taking it alternate days will help, you'll still be taking the B2.
Too much B6 can cause a strong smell, if it's a fishy smell it could be B1. However, there are lots of reasons for urine to smell, dehydration, UTI, certain medications, etc.
Seaside susie it’s the Solgar vitamin b complex “50” high potency.I’ve took a picture of the ingredients with the measurements,it doesn’t seem to be as bad today🤷♀️I’d say I noticed it more in the morning and it’s definitely only started since taking these.

OK, so my reaction to reading that was
Oh, wow, wow, wow, wow!
Can I suggest that this isn't the best supplement.
Firstly any B Complex that is B50, B100, etc., is not balanced, there's too much of certain things.
For example, that supplement contains 50mg B6 and the recommended amount for regular use is no more than 10mg daily. This is because high dose B6 can cause nerve damage amongs other things.
It also contains folic acid, recommended is methylfolate, and cyanocobamin and recommended is methylcobalamin.
It contains mannitol which is the ingredient in Teva levothyroxine which some people have adverse reaction to.
Not really a supplement to recommend.
Can I suggest that you look at Thorne Basic B which is much better balanced and has the bioavailable forms of the active ingredients.
This is why I love all you wonderful people on here😍oh well another £10 down the drain😏I’ll check out the one you’ve recommended. Can I ask if it will be ok to use magnesium bath salts if taking a magnesium supplement?
SeasideSusie is it best to take the b complex with food?
If you Googled that you'd find it says take on an empty stomach, then another article will say take with food so do whatever it says on the bottle (if it gives that information). I take mine with a couple of other supplements followed by breakfast.
It also contains kelp…..admittedly in probably very small amount, but no one on levothyroxine should supplement kelp
We always recommend Thorne basic B on here.
Do you think one a day of them would be enough?
One of which brand?
I would stop the Solgar supplement
Thorne is just one per day

Yes that’s the one I meant,I’m sure the Thorne one I looked at said you can take up to 3 a day🤷♀️
