I don't use it but this is the one my friend uses, it has cofactors included and doesn't seem to contain any garbage. It's seems to be a good price at the moment, last time it was showing as £20.99 but they only charged £18.99 and now it's showing as £18.77 for one time purchase:

Do be aware that "glucosamine products might be derived from the shells of shellfish, there is concern that the supplement could cause an allergic reaction in people with shellfish allergies. Glucosamine might worsen asthma. There's some concern that glucosamine might raise eye pressure".

I was advised to take glucosamine but gave it up eventually as I had side effects. I'm sure that the thing that helped my stiffening joints was being tested for food intolerances and finding out that I'm sensitive to wheat and oats, which I gave up eating.

Thank you for that… I’m vegan so would only take plant based supplements.

I broke my knee when I was 13 and it’s never been the same since. I’m 37 and have had 2 surgeries on it. I’ve just had another MRI and my surgeon has recommended them :)

How would you know if it is plant based? May not be clear on the list of ingredients.

I've just googled for 'is glucosamine vegan'.

This website came up veganfriendly.org.uk/is-it-...

and here's a quote

Based on the fact that it can be made from the chitin (a long-chain polymer) from the shells of shellfish or animal bones, it should come as no surprise that glucosamine made from these sources is not vegan friendly.

There were also ads for several plant based glucosamines including from high street shops.

I hope you find something suitable.

I have used Woods chondroitin and glucosamine for 4* yrs for ‘moderately severe’ arthritic knees that hurt after walking 400 yds. I now do 6 miles pain free. I only realised they worked when I stopped taking them and the original pain returned after 3weeks. They don't work for everyone and I’m not vegetarian so haven’t checked that aspect.
