Hi. Just been to chemist to collect my levothyroxine tablets. And they have given me brand called Mercury!! I take Actavis. Last time they gave me almus Which is the same as Actavis. So that was ok. I told him on my records it says either Activas or almus And refused to accept Mercury. Iv not heard of Mercury. Anyone out there take Mercury

Quite a few members take Mercury Pharma brand,

ThyroidUK have a list of all thyroid replacements available linked to from their website:

thyroiduk.org/tuk/treatment...

There are two by Mercury Pharma at the top of the list.

You can compare ingredients as they're listed for every brand and contact details for the manufacturer are there too.

Thank you. Just checked ingredients. Slightly different. I’ll go and see pharmacy chap in morning. As he said he’s getting g more in but not sure what brand. So annoying as I’m fine on Almus or Actavis. And don’t want to change

I had issues with Mercury pharma due to acacia powder filler giving me terrible stomach problems. I can only tolerate actavis almus

. I would never trust Teva after what happened in 2011-2012 and not getting correct dosage in each tablet. Mhra withdrew their licence. Hope you get sorted.

I am still waiting for my T3 this month cos it,s US brand as uk have acacia! Good job I still have some T3 I bought from German pharmacy.

Time NHS got its supply chain sorted

Hi 🙋

I just joined because I have had terrible stomach cramps and diarrhoea the last few days, then, last night, I fell asleep at 830 pm FREEZING cold!

I knew it was a thyroid low then so looked up ingredients.

Was surprised to find that my regular Accord brand also has Lactose, which I am intolerant too and so explains the constant dull ache I still have.

But this is like nothing I've had before.

Like food poisoning!!!

For the last 3 days.

EXACTLY how long I've been on the tablets for!!! 😤

Evil cramps and diarrhoea, plus the usual spongy feeling I get in my stomach if a restaurant has put even the tiniest nob of butter in a dish.

Thank you for pointing out this *acacia powder filler* another thing to look out for in products.

Accord use maize.

I was thinking of trying Teva, as my local pharmacy stock it and it is Lactose free, but it's worrying to hear they got the doses wrong.

Going back to my old pharmacy, sweet girl even said she'd drop it off tonight on her way home! As no drivers and I have a stomach ulcer from H.pylori so can't walk there.

Asda Pharmacy for the win!!

I felt best on Mercury pharma, when they changed me to teva my levels went awful. Nowhere near me seems to be able to get mercury pharma so I’ve found actavis to be ok

I’m the same on Teva. My legs itched like mad. And was always ill. And run down.

I’m hoping my pharmacy can get hold of Almus or Actavis. He said he’s only got Mercury in stock. So hoping his delivery tomorow has my brand on it. Or I’ll be driving round to chemists trying to find my brand. It’s annoying as it states on my records what brand I have.

I can’t say for sure but when i was on Mercury pharma my T3 stayed towards the top of the range. After time on teva and actavis it struggles at the lower end.good luck with your search, I gave up after ringing a few x

You can call the chemists to ask what they stock.

I just did this. Saves driving about in a fury.

All 3 local chemists stock different brands!

But Asda Pharmacy, my original pharmacy, stock Accord, which I was ok on, AND a staff member is going to drive to mine to drop it off after her shift as no delivery ppl on today.

👏👏👏💖💖💖😊😊😊

I managed to get my Actavis brand.

I’m good on these. And a bit worried changing to mercury even tho lots of people say they prefer this brand.

I’m going to have my blood test soon so I’ll see what results come out like.

Thankyou for your replies.

Here is a link about the company .... some rich directors on there who are directors of other phamaceutical firms .... interesting reading isn't it.

beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/...

Looks like they folded some of their drug companies and set up new ones ... probably because of tax etc. I have a company and companies house sends me notifications about my company and other companies I follow. All this information is in the public domain and all legit btw

There's nothing sicker than getting rich from people's sickness!

I hope they don't charge a fortune for their brand, making it impossible to be accessed by 3rd world countries and those who need health insurance.

But..... of course they do! 😤

Here is a link about Actavis another big pharma

Admin might want to remove the links I provided because big pharma will not like it if they read this forum. This is all legal and in the public domain and I am doing nothing wrong to show you all this.
