Dr westin child’s

Does anyone no if this guy is for real? I have Under active thyroid and I want to introduce protein powder and vitamin supplements to my life I would appreciate the name of powder and supplements that would coexist with 50microgram daily dose of Levothyroxine medication and enhance my journey 👍

Hi Awg76

Can you post link from Dr Childs page mentioning protein powder, and supplements you are considering taking?

I presume you are only considering his information, and not his line of merchandise.

Awg. Important to test vitamin levels before you supplement. Then only supplement with individual vits that are not optimal. That way you restore a balance with good quality ingredients. If you post vit levels on here we will tell you the optimal levels.

Also important to be on proper dose of levo for you. Your TSH should be around 1 or lower and ft4 over 50% through range as a very rough guide.

I know nothing about protein powder.

50mcg levothyroxine is only a starter dose

How long have you been left on just 50mcg

Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose increase

Always test thyroid levels early morning, before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Dose levothyroxine should be slowly increased upwards in 25mcg steps over 6-18 months

Most people when adequately treated will be on approx 1.6mcg levothyroxine per kilo per day

Approx how much do you weigh in kilo

ESSENTIAL to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 at least once a year when on levothyroxine

Very common to need to supplement to maintain optimal vitamin levels

I often ask myself the same question. Even his photo doesn't look real. And, he has some very weird ideas! 🤣🤣🤣

But we like weird, don't we? What's really weird are conventional doctors.

We-ell... There's weird, and then again, there's weird. Conventional doctors are just totally lacking in common sense, logic, imagination, ability to think out of the box and education.

I like reading his articles but it's always good to compare. A real authority on hormones is Ray Peat. raypeat.com/articles/
