Results advice needed.

Latest results:

TSH 0.01 (0.27-4.2)

T3. 5.15. (3.1-6.8)

T4. 12.8. (12-22)

I am taking 50 mcg T4 and 75mcg every other day.

I take 18.5 mcg T3 daily split into 3 doses.

My doctor has recommended that I increase the dose to 75 mcg T4 daily and 20 mcg of T3 daily.

It took several weeks for my system to settle down after the last changes to medication. I then had several weeks of feeling okay but in the past 2 weeks my flare up symptoms are coming back.

I would appreciate your thoughts on my situation.

Please don't increase both at the same time, you need to know what each increase is achieving so need to do them separately, wait 6-8 weeks then retest to see what difference it has made.

With those results I would increase the Levo now, this will have the effect of raising your FT4 and it should also raise your FT3 to a certain extent depending on how much natural conversion you have.

Actually, rather than go from 50/75 (62.5mcg daily) to 75mcg daily, I'd be inclined to raise to 75/100mcg (87.5mcg daily), your FT4 is so low I think an increase of 25mcg daily rather than 12.5mcg daily is more appropriate.

Retest after 6-8 weeks then decide what the next step is.

Doctors seem to have very little understanding of how to dose thyroid meds.
