Since having my baby two years ago I have been Incredibly tired, feeing cold all the time, hair loss and really dry hair I went to the doctors two weeks ago and she told me she forgot to test me for thyroid.
I told her about the hair loss but she said it isn’t anything to worry about yet I am just not myself just tired all the time is this related to thyroid problems I also have a fast heart rate and heart palpitations.

Thanks I have another doctors appointment on Wednesday to discuss my concerns I am going to push for a test tho as I am being fobbed off all the time now.
Do you have any family members who have any autoimmune disease
Autoimmune disease often runs in families
Request thyroid levels are tested including thyroid antibodies for autoimmune thyroid disease. And that GP test iron, ferritin, B12, folate and vitamin D too
Come back with new post once you get results
If not everything is tested you can get private testing done if need be
When getting tested for hypo, make the earliest possible blood draw. It is a fasting test (you can drink water) and when on thyroid hormone replacement take them after the blood test, not before.
If GP suggests for you to have a blood test to check your thyroid hormones, make the very earliest appointment - it is a fasting test but you can drink water - don't take medication before the blood draw - take it afterwards.
Regarding your hair loss, low iron and/or ferritin (iron stores) often cause this. If you had low iron and improved it, it could still take a long time for your hair to recover, it isn't a quick thing to fix.
Sounds familiar. My hashimotos ramped up tremendously postpartum. its a very common trigger for disease progression. Ask - demand - tsh t4 and t3. Thyroid antibodies also useful. I was fobbed off for months and months by my GP until a physio treating me for global muscle/joint pain noticed a raised PV score and stated i had global inflammation. She suggested a thyroid test and we were off! Thank goodness for the physio else I would probably still be suffering and being fobbed off. It took about eight years for diagnosis, from my first GP visit.
And don’t let them test only TSH as you need the full panel. Vitamin D deficiency is also common so try that too. A general vitamin and mineral blood board would also be useful. Good luck.
You must get your thyroid checked, ring back book another app with a different GP and insist.
I had the same issue after pregnancy. I developed something called pots (postual orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) please look this up. I get fast heart rate and feel dizzy and faint.
They test this through something called a tilt table test.
Have a read up. I developed pots and underactive thyroid at exactly the same time straight after pregnancy.
