I have had this light brown pigmentation under just my jawline that I developed after having a thyroidectomy in 2016. I had a hysterectomy 17 years earlier and did not have this light brown pigmentation could this be from the thyroidectomy? Any ideas on how to get rid of it? I tried those skin lightening creams but they haven’t helped.

Light brown pigmentation under jawline only, hypothyroidism issue or something else?
It can be caused by many different conditions :

The incidence of melasma also increases in patients with thyroid disease.[7] It is thought that the overproduction of melanocyte-stimulating hormone brought on by stress can cause outbreaks of this condition. Other rare causes of melasma include allergic reaction to medications and cosmetics.
It could be from thyroid disease… I wonder how to get rid of it.
Long shot but how's your blood glucose? As thyroid medication tends to raise our levels might be worth checking hbaqc and making sure it's not Acanthosis nigricans
I have my sugar tested as often as my doctor will allow and its been good but maybe your on to something because I feel like my sugar is off even though the test says no… do you think this would cause discoloration below my jaw (more under my chin). It definitely doesn’t look like Acanthosis nigricans you can’t feel it and its lighter in appearance.
