GP appointment update

Good morning all.

An update following my GP appointment this morning.

I realised I had given you the wrong info last week. I had already dropped my Levothyoxine from 175 mcg to 150 mcg following my phone call with the GP in February. I just got confused, so sorry about that.

So as expected, the GP has reduced my dose again to 125 mcg and retest in 6 weeks. I did give him a list of all supplements I take and asked about vitamin test for Ferritin, Folate, B12 and Vit D. He has agreed to test for all but Vit D, which he tells me they don’t do. I will let you know the results following the tests next month.

So you need to stop iron supplement a week before test

Test should be early and fasting. Don’t eat iron rich meal night before test

Stop vitamin B complex a week before, instead you might want to take a separate folate and separate B12 that week

Vitamin D test £29

Test twice yearly via NHS private testing service when supplementing
