Hi Taryn . Both these antibody results are negative .. so they don't show an 'autoimmune ' reason for your high thyroid Hormone levels .
The TSI (Thyroid Stimulating Immunoglobulins) is the one that would show if you had Graves Disease , but it's negative so you don't.
Having a negative TPOab (Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies) result doesn't rule out hashimoto's though ... people can occasionally have Hashimoto's and only have TGab ( which the NHS don't often test)... and some can have hashimoto's without either TPOab or TGab being positive ,but their Hashimoto's damage can be seen on a thyroid scan.
So ....... you don't have Graves , but you might or might not have Hashimoto's.... or it could be some other cause for your hyperthyroidism. (eg a hot nodule )... or something else .
They would probably need to do a thyroid scan to see for sure what is going on .
Got a voicemail from the endo who said, bloods are heading back to normal. They might be going to dip to hypo. Or, possibly the thyroid was irritated and the bloods are returning to normal. Do another blood test in a month.Have to wait for the results to come in the post!
So the endo doesn't seems particularly bothered and there is no medication.
But you do need to know why and what has happened to you, and if it's likely to happen again, and what you can do to help yourself.
We all have responsibilities and no one chooses off be off sick for no good reason.
So we wait for the letter wondering what that was all about - not good for one's stress or anxiety but let's take comfort in the fact that it's not being considered as too important.
Just a point of reference:
You actually need to reply to somebody, detailing their name by clicking on their reply button, as otherwise they are not aware you have added in something new to an answered post.
I just happened to be wondering if you had the second set of blood test results and popped back on the off chance and found your message :
