I have noticed on here a few recommendations that thyroid blood tests need to be taken early in the morning. What is the rationale for this? I was diagnosed with Graves Disease 3 years ago & have to admit, my blood tests have been taken at any time. Wondering if I need to change this fir early morning bloods.
Many thanks.

Thank you. Really helpful. I'll look back on my tests to see the antibody results. Your thread about gluten intolerance is interesting - will look into this more.
Kenya TSH is higher early morning than later in the day. If your doctor only looks at TSH as a guide to your levo dose then you want to get the highest TSH result possible otherwise the GP might say your TSH is too low and reduce your levo. This is if you are on levo only.
Some surgeries like mine will not do early morning thyroid tests so in this case all you can do is go with the flow and accept a later appointment and be prepared to argue with the GP. In this case it is best to get your blood tested around the same time each time so that you are comparing like for like.
