Time of blood test

If I've got an endo appointment for 10.00am is it ok to have blood tests at that time (or a bit later say 11.00) or shall I try to convince endo to let me have them taken another day? I am in both t4 and t3.

Don't you usually have blood tests taken before appointment?

Personally I always get private tests first to take to consultation

NHS rarely test FT3 or antibodies.

Are you self medicating T3 or did endo prescribe?

As you are taking T3 a test that doesn't check that would be useless

Essential to retest vitamins too since adding T3

Yes, I am self medicating t3. So having all vitamins tested again b12, vit d, Folate Ferritin? Anything else? These were all top of range when last tested (before adding t3)

Have you seen this endo before? NHS or a recommended one?

If you have time, get tested first. Make sure blood draw is as early as possible in morning and fasting. 12 hours no T3 beforehand and 24 hours no T4

It's a NHS endo and no this is the first time I'm seeing an endo. If I get tested before it will only be 4,5 weeks since increasing t3 is that OK?

Not ideal, but perhaps better than a late morning blood test.

You could stall and say you are taking vitamin B complex containing high biotin. (Even if you are not)

Therefore you would need to stop supplementing biotin 3-4 days before testing otherwise testing is waste of time as biotin can falsely affect test results

If this is a random endo it might not go well anyway. They rarely consider vitamins at all and many are anti Liothyronine

If you do private tests at least you get to pick when and how you do test, fasting and early and stop T3 and T4 at correct gap beforehand.

Plus they are your results

Even an endo not guaranteed to test FT3
