I’ve just recently started Armor ndt 1/2 tablet morning and the other 1/2 on the afternoon and I’m feeling nauseous, tired and disorientated, as though I’m not fully in control is this normal

Transitioning to ndt symptoms
You have started on too high a dose which is probably why you are feeling rough. It is usual to start on a quarter of a grain/tablet for the first week and then add in another quarter weekly or fortnightly until you reach 1 grain
I would say the opposite - transitioning from 125 mcg levo to 1 grain (60 mg) Armour only provides 38 mcg of T4 and 9 mcg of T3. Even at the outside of considering T3 4 times more effective than T4, that would only be equivalent to 74 mcg T4. So that is - by any stretch - at least a 50 mcg reduction in dose. One and one half grain would be more appropriate - providing 57 mcg of T4 and a T3 to T4 equivalent of 54 mcg.
IMO - I would increase rather than decrease. If it still gives issues it could because of the fillers in Armour, not the drug itself and you might want to try a different brand.

Hi TVO it's pretty normal to feel a bit whacked on NDT, particularly for an hour or so after taking. I always start low when coming back onto NDT. Remember you may have been taking 125Levo but you probably weren't converting it too well, where now you are actually feeling the raw T3 hitting you. I don't know exactly what size pills you are taking so halves and quarters don't mean much but lets assume 60mg. I would have a couple of days off and let the levels drop off. If my suspicions are right you were over dosing and you will feel better in 24-48 hours. Then I would start low on 30mg per day. You can even split 30 in 15's, morning and night if you want. The other thing I would do is take with food, particularly if you get any reflux. The food delays the release and softens side effects too. You drive NDT with side effects, you work out how much makes you feel good and stick with that. It will change slightly over time - and change winter(more) summer (less)etc. The main thing is you have a good supply and work out what you need to take for a few days to pass blood tests

Thanks for your reply it has helped a lot and yes the tablets are 60mg.I checked my last blood test and the T3 range was now only 38%.
I have reduced the ndt and I’m not getting so many bad symptoms and I’m taking it with food which is odd because it’s always been on an empty stomach and nothing to eat until an hour after taking it. I’m hoping that by going more slowly and building up will be better for me thanks again for replying and the advice
