Best way to take Efra - NDT?

Do you have some advice for me on what’s the best way to take Efra? I read in a blog that you should dissolve it under your tongue? But the official instructions say ‘swallow with water’.

Hello again :

Years ago you would have been given by your doctor, a little nugget of pig thyroid to chew on, and then a slightly larger slither/nugget if you still had symptoms, until such time as your symptoms were resolved.

Nowadays with NDT it's generally suggested that you swallow with a glass of water and take on an empty stomach and wait around an hour before you eat or drink anything other than water.

NDT is actually digested in the stomach and I take mine with a glass of water at a toilet break at like 3.00 am - so should have maximum impact as I don't get up for another couple of hours.

Some people do dissolve the tablets in their mouth but if you haven't stomach issues, I'd go with a glass of water.

So slow and low, and remember whatever you are taking now takes around 6-8 weeks to fully leave the body and in that time you slowly build up the NDT :

Follow the instructions as previously detailed - though have to say, I take all my NDT 1+1/2 grains, - a relatively small dose as I don't have a thyroid - in the middle of the night to dovetail in with the circadian rhyme of the body.

Luckily I have no stomach issues, so a glass of water is good for me. I’ve decided to split my dose as I have quite bad afternoon Engery slumps, so I take my first dose at 5am (go back to sleep) and then the next at 12 noon before lunch. It’s only day 3 so too early to tell how it’s working

Hi PixieElv just want to say good luck with NDT and hope it makes a difference for you! Like you Ive been on T4 only, then T4 + T3, then back to T4 only. Honestly, it’s a right kerfuffle, all this! Good luck!! 🍀 👍 x
