This study reports that normal TSH levels in patients on levo only often resulted in higher FT4 levels but that FT3 levels may not be at adequate levels.

"These findings indicate that in hypothyroid patients L-T4-replacement, that is sufficient to maintain a normal serum TSH, is accompanied by a serum free T4 that is higher than that in untreated euthyroid patients or normal individuals and may not result in an appropriately normal serum free T3 concentration."

Might be handy for anyone needing reference documents.

There are a number of studies that show this, this is the one that is usually cited journals.plos.org/plosone/a... . It's free and not so difficult to follow.

However, I would advise against higher fT4 levels as I feel it carries risks of cardiovascular disease, cancer and a shorter life expectancy, see my post here healthunlocked.com/thyroidu... .
