Hi folks I’m newly diagnosed and bloods showed THS of 6.1 and T4 is at 11. Been started on 25mg of Levothyroxine. I’ve also got acute profuse thrush (recurring) I’ve been made aware that there is a link between under active thyroid and Candida. I’ve been prescribed flucanazole to be taken for 6 month has any other ladies experiencing thrush and if so how were you treated? TIA.

A daily probiotic may help
Thanks for your response. The brand of levothyroxine is mercury pharmaceutical. I’ve got another blood test mid March to check levels and increase if necessary, which I think they will do. My vitamin levels seem to be ok but I’ll ask for them to be checked again. I have started on probiotic drink every morning, hopefully it’ll help things 🤞 have you heard of any issues with mercury pharmaceutical at all?
Most easily available (and often most easily tolerated) are Mercury Pharma or Accord
Mercury Pharma make 25mcg, 50mcg and 100mcg tablets
Accord only make 50mcg and 100mcg tablets
Accord is also boxed as Almus via Boots, and Northstar 50mcg and 100mcg via Lloyds ....but Accord doesn’t make 25mcg tablets…..beware 25mcg Northstar is Teva
Teva brand upsets many people and best avoided unless lactose intolerant
