Just a thanks and update

Just want to say thanks to everyone who has given me advice. Finally got my GP to call me today and after being armed with information managed to get an increase from 75mcg of Levothyroxine to 100mcg.

Will update in around 8 weeks when I retest everything privately. As vitamin D and B12 need retesting too then.

If wasn't for this group I wouldn't of had the confidence to argue with my GP when my TSH was 2.25 and he told me it was normal and 75mcg was fine even though I still feel absolutely rubbish.

Thanks again.

Well done and the fact that GP has increased your dose.

I take T3 (liothyronine) only once daily.

One of the GPs from the surgery phoned to tell me that:-

that your "T3 is too high and your T4 too low".

"yes doctor - my T3 is high because that is what I take,

T4 is low because I take none so my TSH will be low".

GP but T3 converts to T4 - "no doctor it is the other way around T4 should convert to T3!

How are you feeling now?

Well I had tonsillitis then covid so I'm on week 4 of 100mcg but only just recovering from being ill. I definitely don't have as many symptoms and have lost 2lb but that also might be from being ill lol.Going to give myself a few weeks to recover and do private bloods end of April.

Thank you for asking. Really hoping 100mcg is the right dose for me and I don't have to fight for another increase.

Have you asked others here - showing your previous numbers - whether you are a good converter?

So pleased you are on the upward trajectory you needed.
