Hi all after reading many people take levo at night and feel it helps them I decided 4 nights ago to take my levo at 10pm when I go to bed, since then I have started waking once or twice a night, is this coincidence or is it the effects of the levo waking me? weirdly although i am waking and sometimes taking a while to get back to sleep I dont seem to feel as tired during the day... is this the waking up likely to be a temporary thing?
also my doctor said i may be sightly overdosed on my 100mcg and suggested i try alternating to 75mcg, after i got back form the chemist i realised i had 75mcg of teva so would alternating between 100mcg of mercury pharma and 75mcg possibly cause issues?
thanks as always Ian

Many people find Levothyroxine brands are not interchangeable.
What brand were you in previously?
Once you find a brand that suits you, best to make sure to only get that one at each prescription. Watch out for brand change when dose is increased or at repeat prescription.
Many patients do NOT get on well with Teva brand of Levothyroxine. Though it is the only one for lactose intolerant patients.
Teva is the only brand that makes 75mcg tablet.
To avoid Teva use you can have. Mercury Pharma 100mcg plus 50mcg and cut 50mcg in half. Or get 25mcg Mercury Pharma
NEVER accept that dose needs reducing based just on TSH and FT4
Always get full Thyroid and vitamin testing
Conversion of FT4 to FT3 is extremely common issue.
It affects me in a similar way. The other night I woke up at about 3 am and it took me an hour to fall asleep again. I take 75 mcg at 11 pm - before going to bed, approximately 3 hours after dinner.
thanks again for the response, i have started taking vit d supplement approx 2 weeks ago and usually take 400mg magnesium citrate but you've prompted me to realise that i haven't taken the magnesium the past 4 nights (i usually take it one hour before ) i also would have holy basil but realised this may interfere with the levo. so as i go to bed at 10pm i will need to take magnesium at 6.00pm then. i am not gluten free ( i went gf for 6mths untill this august and didn't feel any benefit and had no problems when i reintroduced it ) with you looking at my recent blood test do you feel i need to amend my t3? (currently take one 25mcg on waking at 6am and 12.5mcg around an house before my dinner around 2pm )
