Hi, I am needing new brand of NDT or thyroid supplement Iam abit concerned, there isnt many options and I don't seem to be functioning so good on the the one I am on now my TSH is at 4.2 and T4 11 with between 1-2 grains daily.
Please can anyone message me with any info of brands or other suitable supplements that they use and have found effective as I really need to get my TSH down under 1.5 and my t4 top end asap I feel awful, the GP won't refer me bk to endo as I was on liothyronine and levo but started to have allergic reactions to them and needed the free from brand they refused to authorise for me so discharged me, so now I am stuck with no help from primary care either, please reply by PM if replies aren’t allowed on here..... really appreciate it .Thanks 🙏

Some take a bovine ndt which has been around for years. One is called ThyroGold and they do not need prescriptions since they are considered supplements. Also, this website gives a list of NDTs but will you be able to get a prescription? stopthethyroidmadness.com/a...
Please can you pm me some details about Erfa iav never heard of it and why do I need I prescription would I have to ask my GP as they unlikely will agree they've been really unhelpful through the whole process and just left me to self medicate, how have you managed to get it prescribed?
Erfa Thyroid is a prescription-only medicine. It has declared amounts of thyroid hormone (T4 and T3).
Have a look at my medicines document which has a section on desiccated thyroid and another section on "glandulars".

I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world.
