Half life of T3 is approx 24 hours but, as always, there is contradiction and if you Google you will find some links say "less than 2 days" or "2.5 days" or "19 hours".

The elimination half-life of T3 is about 24 hours. Manufacturers tend to refer to a 'biological half-life' which is a poorly defined concept but seems to mean how long the patient can notice the effect after stopping the tablets. This is where the 2.5 days comes from.

Are you taking T3-only, if so how much?Do you have any recent labs on current dose?

Too little T3 as well as too much can cause Afib

Be careful not to mix up cause and effect. This study shows AF causes low T3 syndrome, not the other way around. Hylda2 seems to be saying the AF comes on when they increase their L-T3.

I added in T3 because my T4 was 123% through range and my T3 22%. I was taking 125 Levo. I dropped to 100 levo and worked my way up to 25 T3 hoping to clear my brain fog. However, although I take 100 Flecainide twice a day I have been have a lot of break throughs so time to rethink

How long did you take to work up to 25mcg T3? Did you leave at least 6-8 weeks between each increase? Did you test each time? I can still feel a difference 10 weeks after a T3 dose change, so some of us need quite some time for levels to settle even with T3.

What dose of Levo are you taking now with your 25mcg T3?

What are your current results?

Latest results T4 104% through range and T3 76.2%. I started T3 in June. Take 100 Levo. Have upped Flecainide to 150x2 a day, unfortunately highest I can go. Will work my way down to 12.5 T3 and reconsider Levo.
