Current Thyroid test results

Could someone please have a look at these results and give their opinion. I was on 50mcg of Levo and 20mcg of Liothyronine. I have since increased levo to 75 and dropped Lio to 15.

I'm still feeling awful and hypo and wonder if Im ever going to get where I need to be. In the comments that came with the results they said that I'm subclinical hyper. How is this? Or is it because they basing that on the low TSH?

They're going by the TSH, Ignore them - it's rubbish, You take lio ergo TSH is low. Remember you are ONLY over-medicated (and never hypER if you're on meds for being hypO) if free T3 goes over-range. And yours is fine.

How are your nutrients?

If these are good , I'd say it's time for another tweak. When you take lio and levo combo, it can take a while to find our personal "sweet spot", o either raise lio back to 20 mcg or levo up to 100 mcg and see how that makes you feel x

Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Day before test did you split T3 into 3 smaller doses, taking last third of daily dose 8-12 hours before test

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

As you have Hashimoto’s are you on absolutely strictly gluten free diet

If not, get coeliac blood test done BEFORE trialing strictly gluten free diet

The test was done at 9am, I just drank water. Levo was 24hrs before. Lio was 16 hrs before, split into 3. I do have Hashies and usually am strictly gluten free and dairy free but I'm afraid I did cave in a bit over the Xmas period! 🙄. The last time vits were tested was beginning of Sept. Please see attached photo. The supplement I currently take at vit d3 MK2. Multi vit B complex which I laid off 5 days before the test and most recently started to take Magnesium.

So vitamin levels are good

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Ft4 is still low ….you might consider trying 87.5mcg and 75mcg alternate days and retest in 6-8 weeks

If you had eaten gluten this could account for worse gut absorption and low Ft4 levels

Personally I would suddenly feel extremely hypothyroid is accidentally glutened

Thank you. I will try upping the dose a little. Whilst titrating up for the past year there has never been a stage where I have felt any improvement that to be honest so I'm still hoping a slight tweak will help me. My FT4 has always been low and only just scraping in range for years before starting any medication and it still is now. Some people say that to see the whole picture it is advisable to test for RT3. What do you think?

I do feel that I have adrenal dysfunction aswell

Well you are only on low dose levothyroxine, so it’s not surprising Ft4 is low

What was highest dose levothyroxine you were on BEFORE adding T3

Approx how much do you weigh in kilo

No point testing RT3 especially with low Ft4.

A few years ago I tried to start Levo but seemed to get awful reactions from it so got left unmedicated. So basically I started out a year ago on liothyronine only. I titrated to near maximum dose and didn't really feel better. High Ft3 and low FT4. I then introduced Levo and seemed OK with it. So that is my story.I get alot going on with my heart. Skipped beats, pounding and tachycardia so I have to be a bit careful. I'm on a low dose of bisoprolol which helps a little

I am 12.5 stone by the way.

12.5 stone = 80 kilo

80 x 1.6 = 128

So if ONLY on levothyroxine your dose would probably need to be around 125mcg

As your taking T3 as well, likely to eventually need somewhere around 100mcg levothyroxine alongside T3

You might want to also consider splitting levothyroxine into 2 doses per day

Yes, I am a bit heavier and I know this makes a difference! . At the moment I am changing over to taking the levo of a night instead of morning as I'm getting insomnia. Thank you for your helpful advice

How do you normally take your T3

As 3 x 5mcg doses split through the day?

Eg 7am, 3pm and 11pm

Many people find small 5mcg dose T3 at bedtime improves sleep……but not everyone does

Having had Gluten could be upsetting sleep too
