Hi, I’ve had another blood test done, please can some one read my results and tell me what’s occurring ?
High antibodies : Hi, I’ve had another blood test... - Thyroid UK
High antibodies
irishmary78,
Previous results showed FT3 low & FT4 around middle of range. FT3 is slightly higher in this test but still less than half way through range.
Hashimotos is a progressive disease. Have you taken steps to address previous elevated TGAb's? TPOAb's have now increased to just over-range. Where are your other new test results, ie TSH & FT4?
As previously suggested you also need to have Vit B12, folate, ferritin & Vit D tested because these commonly become low in people with hypothyroidism. Optimising these will help your thyroid meds to work better.
We usually leave 6 - 8 weeks between dose raises and testing. How you feeling? If you are symptomatic, your previous results indicated room for a dose raise but it depends how long you have been medicating 100mcg Levothyroxine?
Hi I have added everything relevant now. I’m on 100mg Levo, same brand that I’ve noticed. I’m feeling rubbish as I go into winter, tired and struggling with my happiness and positivity. I’ve a lot of stress I’m a single parent to 3 boys and hold down a full time job and 2 side jobs, so I’m always on the go.
I’m not taking an supplements at the moment.
I walk a lot and do weights for exercise.
I’m gluten and dairy free and trying to eliminate sugar but failing. I don’t drink or smoke.
It looks like my thyroid is starting to struggle - and I’m wondering if winter has anything to do with it…
Thank you so much for your time and knowledge on this, I can’t go doctors as the last time I was talking to her she made an appointment for me to see a CBT counsellor as she feels I need to accept I’m ill and get on with it. Of course the CBT appointment lasted all of 10 minutes as I do not need CBT as agreed by the counsellor - her time was being wasted. So I’ve no where to turn …. And I can’t afford private. Thank you again for your time 🙂
irishmary78,
Nope, can't see further added test results. We're looking for TSH, FT4, VitB12, folate ferritin & Vit D.
You are already gluten/diary free which is suggested can calm the auto-immune response so help thyroid hormone reduction. There are other means to encouraging your body to utilise thyroid hormones better and reducing damaging antibodies such as supplementing selenium, but optimising basic nutrients and iron should be a first.
You need to ask your doctor if you haven't had these nutrients & iron tested recently. As previously advised these are hugely important in the puzzle to improving usage of our thyroid hormone meds. The combination of winter temps requiring more energy, a busy household, under medication of thyroid meds, elevated antibodies and possible iron/nutrient deficiencies can all be impacting on the severity of your symptoms and chances of recovering good well-being.
You will receive a lot of support from the forum if you can offer further info 😊.
Please also add results and ranges for
TSH
Ft4
TG antibodies
Vitamin D
Folate
Ferritin
B12
Looking at previous post, you are on 100mcg levothyroxine
How long have you been on this dose
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
Was test done as early as possible in morning before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Test was done at 8am - I didn’t take levo until after.
I’ve on 100mg for a year, reduced down from 150mg which I had been on for a couple of years since having my boy - he is 6 now.
I’m not taking any supplements atm
