Hey there Pam :
OK :
We generally feel at our best when our T4 is up in the top quadrant of its range as this should in theory convert in your body to a nice high T3 result.
It is low T3 that gives you all the symptoms of hypothyroidism just as too high a level of T3 may give you symptoms of over medication and " hyper " type symptoms.
Your T4 is currently at just around 6% and your T3 at around 13% through the ranges :
Both these vital thyroid hormones need to be up in the top quadrants of the ranges for optimal health and your TH needs to come down the range to a much lower number at around 1.
This will all happen when you start to increase your dose of Levothyroxine x 25 mcg daily and then a repeat blood test should be arranged and a review of where your levels then sit in around 8 weeks time where upon you may well find you need to repeat the whole procedure again as you build up your T4 medication to a level that relieves your symptoms.
In primary care doctors seem restricted in what blood tests they can arrange and if your doctor isn't able to order anything other than a TSH and possible a T4 I'd suggest you take this blood test with you to give the evidence of need of a dose increase in T4.
Yes, you are in the ranges but it's more about where you are in ranges that gives you your wellness and a TSH over 3 is where some countries commence treatment for hypothyroidism and this needs to be much lower in the range to support you.
