NDT bloods

Hi all,

I've just had a sudden realisation that I've done my blood test all wrong. 😫

I take 75mcg levo and 45mg NDT together at bedtime. I took my dose around 10pm last night and did my bloods at 8am.

Does that mean I'll show a false high in T4 and false low T3?

This is my first set of bloods on NDT.

Your FT3 and TSH will be fine, but the FT4 will possibly be a false high, yes. However, as you're only on a small dose of levo, it won't be very high. And, anyway, it's the FT3 the most important number.

Usually, we recommend leaving a gap of 24 hours between the last dose of levo, and the blood draw. And a gap of 8 to 12 hours for T3 or NDT, because you can't separate the T4 from the T3 with NDT.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, if I were you.
