I'm taking 75mcg t4 and 10mcg t3. I feel rubbish. Could it still be my thyroid levels and is yes what do you advice me to do?

Latest results is:

Tsh 0.03

Ft3 4.2 (3.6-6.3)

Ft4 14 (12-22)

Thank you in advance!

Your FTE and ft4 results are low in range . Suggesting you need an increase in hormones.Only change on thing at a time . Initially I would increase levo by 25mcg, wait 8 weeks and then do bloods to see what's what .

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

On day before blood test, split T3 into 3 smaller doses, at roughly equal 8 hour intervals, taking last 1/3rd of daily dose approx 8-12 hours before test

Is this how you did your test

5mcg waking, 2.5mcg early afternoon, 2.5mcg at 9pm ….testing 9am following morning

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels last tested

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Yes, I took the levothyroxine and liothyronine 24h before blood test. I take both my meds in the morning as I feel awful splitting dose.

Do you have any advice about what I can increase?

But on day before test you need to split dose to get true representation of levels

So if you took last dose T3 24 hours before test, that’s a false low Ft3 result …..but can only guess how much higher it would be

Ft4 is true result

That’s perhaps too low Ft4 for you….you can only find out by trial and error what suits each person

Suggest you increase levothyroxine by 12.5mcg to 75mcg and 100mcg alternate alternate days

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Essential to test vitamin levels, if not been tested for 6 months

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

Are you on absolutely strictly gluten free diet

I feel so rubbish if I split so I always do like this. Do you think 25mcg increase would be too much?

not saying splitting dose everyday….but the JUST the day before test

I would only increase levothyroxine by 12.5mcg and retest in 6-8 weeks

Testing correctly will increase Ft3 result
