Did you notice any difference in efficacy and potency? Which one do you prefer, and why?

question to those having tried both porcine and bovine thyroid
Anna69,
I have seen posts where members have swapped from ThyroGold (bovine) to porcine NDT but not the other way around.
OK, interesting. Thanks.
I switched from a compound with porcine thyroid over to ThyroGold with New Zealand grass fed beef thyroid. More alert, awake easier and sooner, better memory, energy, so pleased w the change. And I like knowing I am getting what I think of as clean glandular, imo.
Very interesting indeed, thanks for your input! Yes, I figured there must be some thyroid patients who switched from porcine to bovine thyroid as well, especially since I know many decided to try Thyro-Gold after being disappointed with Armour, Erfa, etc.
I don't have a thyroid gland having had TT 15 years ago due to papilliary thyroid cancer. I would like to try a more natural approach to meds I take 100mcg Levo daily just now. I am concerned if I switch to a natural thyroid med there may be difficulties getting hold of it from time to time whereas there is no probs getting hold of levothyroxine. Also is Thyro-Gold an alternative to Armour or another type of natural supplement?
Pepekins,
The T4 and T3 is sourced from pig thyroid but the fillers in NDT are synthetic and laboratory processed. ThyroGold T4 and T3 is sourced from New Zealand cows but the company doesn't declare the amount of active T4 and T3 content so it can be sold as a supplement over the counter. Of course it is possible that there may be difficulties sourcing NDT but there have also been difficulties sourcing Levothyroxine and Liothyronine in the UK from time to time.
