Looking for a specialist in Yorkshire that will take a proper look at me, since GPs are unfortunately no help. I have had thyroid issues for 3 years and had it removed over a year ago. I have since suffered severe fatigue and insomnia, the sleep deprivation is at this point driving me literally insane. I want to solve the cause (which is I believe a disregulated adrenaline/cortisol cycle) not hide the symptoms.
I'm also interested in someone who will advise me on my diet, since noone have mentioned it so far and it seems to be quite important in thyroid cases.
Does any of you have similar experiences and know someone brainy that can take care of it?
Thanks!

Before considering booking any consultation with private endocrinologist we always strongly recommend getting FULL thyroid and vitamin testing done
How much levothyroxine are you currently taking
Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
When were vitamin levels last tested
Please add most recent results and ranges
Presumably you had Graves’ disease
Have you had coeliac blood test done
Or are you already on strictly gluten free diet
Bloods should be retested 6-8 weeks after each dose change or brand change in levothyroxine
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested.
Very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially with autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto’s or Ord’s thyroiditis)…….or with Graves’ disease
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or all relevant vitamins
