No one has ever looked at or felt my thyroid gland and I don't produce antibodies much at all. I'm interested in knowing what state it's in in case it helps with understanding my treatment.
If anyone knows how to get a private scan I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.

I googled it a few months ago and loads came up close to me. £150. I felt the same as you. No one had ever looked at my thyroid. I can say ‘small and very coarse’ made me none the wiser though really. Hindsight being a marvellous thing I wish I had spent the money on something far more interesting 🤣 but I suppose it was peace of mind that there was nothing sinister.
I was just about to add a link but I don’t know if I’m allowed on the forum?? If you would like it I can pm you?
I feel same! Actually had a moan this evening about that. As for the scan, there is an element of peace of mind to be had. I had thought maybe I had a lump? Turned out I have even gained weight on my neck 🤣
My ear lobes are fat! I can't wear earrings anymore. They no longer hang down, but stick out sideways because of the football lobes. I'm so over hypothyroidism.
I had a scan on the nhs and it was described “ multinodular” with one nodule being quite large and suspicious. I was to have a biopsy, the second radiologist decided a biopsy was not needed. No mention of a repeat scan in the future, so I’m still left wondering if all is ok
When doctors change the plan like that it makes you lose faith a little.
I think a lot depends on the skill of the scan operator. They will always be cautious if uncertain but others have more confidence & experience interpreting images and knowledge of the grading protocol they can be more certain if the nodule has concerning features or not.
I watched a webinar about nodules recently where this was discussed.
