Blood results after adding T3 to T4 - some symptoms nearly gone, some remain, some are new!

I hope you are as okay as you can be.

Just thought I'd share these results after about 6 weeks of steady 10mcg T3 added to 75 mcg Levo - a Levo reduction from 100 mcg and no T3 before this.

I take both Levo and Lio at 4am in the morning away from everything.

I've put my last 3 blood results in order - latest one first.

Symptoms which are better:

•Brain fog is much reduced and I can trust my brain to grapple with a good level of complexity most of the time.

•Fatigue is better. No more afternoon slump.

•Pain is much reduced - especially legs. Pain comes back in feet at the end of the day (I have to hobble to bed - very bad then).

•Sleep is generally much better.

•Mood has improved.

•I can now speak on the phone after 5pm.

Weight is generally static - no weight loss though.

Symptoms which have not gone:

•I am much more constipated than I was before adding T3. This is new.

•Still get bloated and have little appetite in the evening. Appetite has reduced on T3.

•My face is still a bit bloated but not as bad as before.

20 September 2021 (Medichecks) (75mcg Levo/10 mcg Lio – steady for about 6 weeks) (feeling much better but still symptomatic)

TSH 0.49 (Range: 0.27 - 4.2) – this is now in range which is a bit weird

Free T3 4.8 (Range: 3.1 - 6.8) 45.95%

Free Thyroxine X 11.5 (Range: 12 - 22) -5%

2 July 2021 (NHS) (100mcg Levo) (still felt very rubbish)

TSH X 0.16 (range: 0.35-4.94) under range

Free T3 4 (range 2.63 – 5.70) 44.63%

Free T4 13.2 (range 9.01 – 19.05) 41.21%

May 2021 (Medichecks) (100 mcg Levo) (felt very rubbish)

TSH X 0.08 (Range: 0.27 - 4.2) under range

Free T3 5.5 (Range: 3.1 - 6.8) 64%

Free Thyroxine 18.0 (Range: 12 - 22) 60%

So, my TSH has risen and is now in range. I absolutely wasn’t expecting that.

T4 under range – was expecting that.

T3 has gone down. I wasn’t expecting that either!

Any thoughts or hints are welcome please?

I clearly don't seem to do very well when both T4 and T3 are high in range (May 2021 results). I was beside myself then. Moon face and everything.

I would like to get rid of the constipation. I’ve not had problems with this even when undermedicated on T4 only. Also get rid of the bloating…

Personally I would try SMALL increase in levothyroxine up to 75mcg and 100mcg alternate days

Meanwhile, what about vitamin levels?

Hi SlowDragon. Thank you - wasn’t sure which to increase. Endo may not be happy because he’ll be thrilled about TSH back up a bit! I’ll suggest it to him though thank you.

The last time I had vits done everything was tip top. I’m taking D, C, magnesium, selenium every day in the evening.

Iron and folate very good at last test and B12 well over range so I think all is good there thank you 😊
