High T4, low T3

Hi everyone,

So I’ve just got some bloods back.

T3: 4.3 (3.1-6.8)

T4: 32 (12-22)

They were much higher a few weeks ago (T3: 20.5 and T4: 44) but as I’m pregnant my doctor put me on 50mg PTU 3xday. Just before I started PTU last Friday my T3 was 39 and T4 6.8.

Since I started on the PTU five days ago my T3 has dropped from 6.8 to 4.3 and the endo I’ve been referred to doesn’t seem at all worried about this. I’m starting to have all my low T3 symptoms again, can’t get out of bed, can’t function and just exhausted.

My next blood test with the endo is in a month, but I’m very concerned that by the end of this week (if the trend continues) my T3 will be below range and I don’t think that will be good for my wee bubs.

I have home tests so can do them pretty easily too. I also have access to NDT, T3, T4 and more PTU so can start on any medication needed, but would just love some advice about what to do next.
