Ways to reduce meds without too much tablet cutting?

So I need to reduce my NDT as doctor says my results show I'm hyper now , as I pointed out is probably overmedicated, I have had a couple of chest flutters but actually feel well otherwise. So I am going to reduce by half a grain per day and was wondering would it work on the same way if I just had one tablet free day? This is more in regard to the T3 as I think it's used up daily? Can someone advise on this please

NDT and T3 should always be the same dose each day, you can't alternate or leave off a day. I think some members who take NDT have no problems cutting tablet when necessary.

What are your actual results/ranges, it might be better to reduce by 1/4 grain and see what that does, if necessary make it 1/2 grain later if necessary, you may miss your sweet spot by dropping 1/2 grain to start with.

Hi Katkrap

You can drop a day once or twice a week or you can cut pills or split caps. It's the T4 part of NDT that tends to build up in your system to the point you go a little hyper. I use heart flutters as my guide. Just hover along just under heart flutters.

You need more NDT in winter and less in summer or if you doing a big day in the garden you might need a little more etc Don't worry too much about what the GP says. They have never taken NDT and have no idea really. I drop back a little prior to a blood test or I get a TSH=0 and cause a GP meltdown .
