I was prescribed nortyptoline for vestibular migraine. I have also been taking thyroxine for over 20 years for an underactive thyroid

My gp said my t4 has now gone too high , I haven't seen her yet to ask for more details

Does nortryptiline affect T4 . I was not warned about this by my GP

I was also taking stemetil for nausea and I read that can slow down the thyroid, my gp did not seem to know this

It says on medicine notes stemetil not recommended for thyroid patients but when I asked my GP they didn't know why

Any advice would be appreciated as the people eg GPs who should know this stuff don't seem to know

I take a very small amount of t3 . I take a quarter of a 25 mcg of t3. If I take any more my heart races

I have had the same experience I am 75 now and the endo I see assesses me annually and does not prescribe thyroxine for me.. my levels fell last year and since having covid I have had all sorts of weird symptoms. How are you on your current level of T3 wondering if it may help me, am due for my annual consultation

I have to take a small amount of t3 . Only a quarter of a 25mcg tablet as any more and my heart racesIf you are underactive I wonder why they don't prescribe thyroxine

Because I am allergic to it it causes severe tachycardia and I am sensitive to the additives, which cause painful hives on the back of my neck and across the bridge of my nose. For the first time last year after many years of testing I was told that I am officially sub clinically hypothyroid, before I was told that I was borderline.

Last time I saw the endo he thinks it’s safer for me to continue as I am. Just moved area and changed GPs . I am due my annual test and will wait for the result and see what my new GP advises. I am fairly well unmedicated and do not put on weight. I am 5foot 1 and weigh 7 stone 6. I take thyroid support and eat a mainly paleo diet. I understand that not everyone who is hypo puts on weight. Plus I have bowel disease caused by 3 C sections adhesions from the C sections which resulted in a bowel perforation, resulting in incisional hernia. Now repaired with mesh. I am a bit messed up
