Hi everyone, hope someone can help as I feel helples! I have put on 2 stones since 1 stopped taking T3 a year ago as my TSH was suppressed and as you can see from my results below they are still supressed. My endocrinologist wants to reduce my Levothyroxine medication and has reffered me to have a bone density scan. I have had a bone density scan 2 years ago and all was fine. He has refused to prescribe me T3 knowing that I am positive for the DL02 Gene. I would like to start back on T3 and wondered if someone can private message me, please!

Many thanks in advance!

Serum free T3 level 5.1 pmol/L Normal range 3.1 - 6.8

Serum free T4 level 14.7 pmol/L Normal range7.9 - 14.0

Serum ferritin 44 ug/L Normal range11 - 307

Serum 25-HO vit D3 level 53.0 nmol/L Normal range > 50.0

My saliva test came back positive for the DI02 GENE

Shug1974,

Vit D is still too low. Both Vit D Society and Grassroots Health recommend a level of between 100 & 150nmol/L.

Yes, medicating T3 can make the TSH suppressed. And TSH may well stay suppressed due to reasons such as a down regulation of the pituitary-thyroid connection, meaning you might only function best with a suppressed TSH.

FT4 is over range & FT3 is over half way through range. Iron is only 11% through range and I think this is where the problem lies as increasing levels will make meds work better.

What about folate & Vit B12?

Hi, my folate was 13.4 in November, the normal range is 8.83-60.8My B12 at 379, the normal range is 300-596.

It doesn’t really look like you need T3… more like you just need more t4 and that should bring your T3 up too.

Does T3 keep the TSH low after having it removed from your person a year ago, curious?

Hi, to be honest my TSH has stayed suppressed with T3 and without.
