Thyroid Feeling

Does anyone ever feel like their thyroid is very slightly pulsating? I recently increased my T3 by 5mg/day - so wonder if it's that - but I don't feel like I'm running too 'fast' generally or whether it's sort of phantom?

Also wonder how you differentiate some of Thyroid symptoms from Menopausal symptoms - in particular: thinning hair, water retention, weight gain. If your thyroid is optimal (if you can work that out) then the rest must be Menopause. Right?

Hi miss Rees,I think that there are a lot of symptoms that both peri menopause, menopause & thyroid conditions share; it is all a bit of a minefield. That’s why so many women are not picked up as having a thyroid condition, for GPS often put symptoms down to the ‘natural ageing process’. I’ve found Gottfried’s ‘The Hormone Cure’ a very useful read & this book highlights many overlaps between thyroid & menopause symptoms.’

Regarding the pulsating feeling in your thyroid, do you have any recent blood results from before & after your T3 increase to post?

Thank you Buddy195 - it is a minefield indeed! I'll have a read of the book you mention - sounds good.

I had a chat with GP today (new one) - and she's agreed to do blood tests which is great. (Although she had very little knowledge of either thyroid or menopause - but at least she listened!). Will post results once I have them along with the last Thriva test I did in March - see what things look like - and see what everyone thinks.
