CalciumD3 taken 4 times a day

Hi all🦋

I started taken calciumD3 4 times a day after my TT/Radical left side neck surgery, thyroid cancer in January and now I start feeling sick after taking my calcium tablet number 4!!! Should I stop taking the 4 one?!!! Maybe I’m over medicated with calcium?!! Xx

Sorry but nobody here is medically qualified to answer your question. Presumably your calcium tablets are prescribed so you should contact your doctor, hopefully your calcium levels are being monitored.

Calcium should only be prescribed by doctor Presumably you have been tested and definitely have low calcium levels?

Low calcium linked to low vitamin D

Essential to regularly retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 when on levothyroxine

What vitamin D supplements are you currently taking

Any other vitamin supplements?

Calcium supplements must be minimum of 4 hours away from levothyroxine

I’m on calcium D3 4x day and yes away from my levothyroxine x

I was on calcium supplements for a while after surgery resulted in low calcium level and yes it made me feel awful as well. I'm not advising you do the same but I cut the dose down and eventually stopped and luckily my calcium had returned to an acceptable level after a few months.
