I never had that problem before but now about 6 hours after washing my hair it's greasy and disgusting again. Anyone else?

Is greasy hair a symptom of hypothyroidism?
Hi Jtk11, Do you have any current thyroid tests to share?
Thyroid conditions can certainly affect your hair. Some people have dry coarse hair, others have fine hair or shed a lot of hair. We are all different & some of us get random symptoms (eg I’ve got Hashimotos & lost outer third of my brows & have eye problems but my hair is unaffected ).
Low B vitamins can definitely cause greasy hair. Have you had folate & B 12 checked? It may be a good idea to do this & supplement with a good B Complex. Taking Thorne Basic B daily (following members advice here) helped raise my folate and B12 & improve my overall health.
I can recommend natural shampoo… I found the standard shampoos with silicone and parabens made my hair greasy so quick (similar to you). Natural shampoos can take 4-6 weeks to get your hair to a good standard on the switch and often require more (I.e 2- 3 rounds of shampoo in the shower for the first few weeks) and lots of brushing to move the oils and old products down the hair. Only condition the ends. I was a daily washer without fail until I went natural last year, I can now go 48hrs!! Brands like Noughty (available online/ Sainsbury’s) or Bondi Boost (online)
I think it’s definitely hormone related Im having the same issue went from straw head to grease shop.. agh ! If you use lotions and then touch your hair this can also cause greasy head even if you wash your hands.
Have you thought about using a dry shampoo as the more you wash your hair the greasier it will become. Using a dry shampoo will help to lengthen the time between washes and will help your hair as washing it so frequently will strip it of it's natural oils and make it very brittle. Heather
