Timing of T3 dose prior to test

Hi all. Please could someone advise me on the best way to time my doses of T3 before having my thyroid hormone levels tested? I normally take two doses of T3 a day at 4am and 4pm. Would carrying on as normal and missing my morning dose before the test be the best way to do it?

How much T3 are you currently taking

Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

When on T3, day before test, split dose into three smaller doses roughly equal 8 hour intervals. Taking last dose T3 at roughly 8-12 hours before test

So split the 4pm dose into 2 and take half at 3pm and rest at 9pm (assuming test 9am)

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I'm taking 2x 6.25mcg of T3 per day. I cut a 25mcg tablet into four quarters, so it would be difficult to cut one of my 6.25mcg doses into two. Not impossible though I suppose. What is the thinking behind splitting T3 doses into three?

Day before test you want an even T3 dose through day

Last dose must be 12 hours maximum before blood test

I would try splitting 1/4 into 2 x 1/8th (speck of dust )

Alternatively you could take 6.25mcg at 9pm....but will get higher Ft3 result

If looking to increase T3, splitting into 2 x 1/8th will give lower/more representative Ft3 result

I haven't split my dose of T3 and I just miss my early a.m. dose (one daily dose) and take it after the earliest blood test. No-one has queried my results.
