Hello allA few months ago a member commented that I could well not be taking the optimal ratio of T4/T3 to feel my best...(I can't find this comment now so not sure who it was from)
But I was hoping for some advice how I go about tweaking this to find out what's best for me?
- how often would you test when adjusting doses?
- how long between dose changes?
- presumably you'd change one thing at a time, eg. Drop t4 dose for X weeks, then if this results in feeling worse you'd raise the t3 and so on?!
I'm currently on 125mcg T4 and 12.5mcg T3.
Thanks in advance x

Testing would be every 6-8 weeks and thats how often you would change dose. It cn even take longer for a dose to 'settle' and blood results to fully adjust.
Change one thing at a time. Usually dropping a small amount of Levo, retest then add small amount of T3.
What were your latest bloods?
Have you recently had vitamins tested? What were the results? Vitamins need to be OPTIMAL for the body to be able to use the thyroid hormone well.
Sorry for the delay in responding to your helpful adviceIt's two months since my last blood test, so maybe I should do another one before changing anything?
Yes I've been working at getting my vitamins optimal for a while now, and I think we're getting there, but a test will tell us I guess!
I'm currently on 125mcg t4 and 12.5mcg t3 - would you go down to 100 t4, then after 6 weeks and another test increase t3 by 6.25mcg?? Not sure whether that's small enough increments?
