Help! Post vaccine thyroid issues

I know I messed up here but I'm not sure what to do now!

I take 150 mg (2.5) grains Armour Thyroid. Once I added the Methyl-Bs in February I stared to feel better. So much better than I was able to switch from working 2 days/week to 5 days/week a month ago. Then came the Pfizer vaccine. First dose April 13, second dose May 14.

Since the second dose, I have not been well. The immediate very sick response lasted only about two days, but then the thyroid issues began.

May 17-19, hunger through the roof, and I was drinking 1.5-2 gallons (!) of water per day. I was sleeping 5 hours per night but was not tired at all. I figured this was hyperthyroid symptoms so

May 20-21 I did not take any thyroid medicine, this relieved those symptoms

May 22-25, took reduced dose (90mg)

Then the broken sleep started and I resumed my regular dose. When I go downhill with hypo symptoms this is my pattern: 1, broken sleep/insomnia, then 2. lack of appetite/inability to eat, then 3. full blown depression/suicidal thoughts. I've experienced this pattern so many times, and once I get to the depression stage I have a very hard time getting out. Or doing anything at all.

My lack of appetite started on May 28. I upped my dose to 180 and felt so horrible yesterday I took a full 360mg.

I have no energy at all, my fatigue overwhelms anything I may try to do. My brain fog is making decision making nearly impossible. My symptoms also now include dizziness, a new one for me.

I have to avoid getting to the depression stage of my illness. What should I do? Do I just continue on the 180 until my fatigue and broken sleep go away? Take my regular 150? Is this all thyroid related? Is there something with the vaccine?

I appreciate your guidance and insights very much.

I had the Moderna vaccinations on 2/4/21 & 3/4/21. I just spent the month of May experiencing hunger threw the roof & felt I had to make thyroid medication adjustments. I struggled with some insomnia too. Interesting we both experienced marked hunger.

My physician had asked me to take daily walks & I have been working with a Zoom Cognitive Behavioral Therapist to head off depression. I also have been working with a Alexander instructor (Thanks to the "Stimulus" check money we have received in the States). Both the Therapist & Alexander instructor have highly recommended breathing exercises, also other relaxation techniques.

We should know for sure if a vaccination booster comes out & we crave food once again after it, the vaccination brought it on!

Thanks, it helps to know I'm not the only one. That's good advice regarding the relaxation techniques. That seems like a great way to spend your Stimulus money!

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I had the two Moderna vaccines this past Jan. and February. It did not affect my thyroid medications at all.I am thinking it's your Armour. Have you started a new batch of pills during that time? Armour, like all NDT's now do not work. Maybe you had some previous pills that have not been tainted like they all are now.

Is it possible to switch to synthetic T4/T3? Give it a trial run and see how it goes.

My husband takes Armour and it continues to work for him. He refills the Armour every 90 days, and hasn't seen any decline in his thyroid #s.

I experienced subacute thyroid just after pfizer 1st dose. I did not had a thyroid history before. Subacute is a hyper phase followed by a hypo phase. I made a research and found scientific research on people experiencing subacute thyroid after covid vaccinations. It is rare (1 in every 10,000) but happens. It can also happen after any influenza or cold flu shot. My doctor did not prescribe any pills even though my levels were up and out of scale. Exreme hunger, imsomnia, shaking, anger...My body is adjusting to hyperphase. I give blood every 4 weeks under my endocrinologists advice.

Hypo phase scares me like hell. I had a dear friend she had it and decided that she won’t take her medicines. After 6 months she commited suicide. I don’t know how much of it was depression caused by thyroid? Hypo phase is no joke. Give blood tests regularly keep under your doctors control. Never adjust your pills by yourself! Take care
