Worst symptoms of Hypothyroid/Hashimoto

What are your guys worst symptoms when under-medicated or having a general flare up.

At the minute I have a feeling of being unbalanced/ feeling drunk. I have had it before when my medication needed raising from 50 to 75. In the past I have also suffered bouts of depression and anxiety to. I now realise having an under-active thyroid can lead to so many different symptoms when not treated correctly. Today I took my 11th dose of 125mcg. Ive noted slight changes but nothing drastic as of yet.

Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell. I haven’t been feeling so great either. I’m suffering from fatigue, body aches, depression, irritability, and weight gain.

I've had real bad episodes of fatigue. I just wanted to sleep in the day. Despite getting a full night's sleep

I am very fortunate to state that I have no clinical symptoms but it has been a long and winding journey too.

Thanks to Thyroiduk before Healthunlocked forum and I was fortunate to see two doctors, both of whom had patients from all over the UK - maybe even from abroad (I wouldn't be surprised) as they seemed to be the last two who were skilled in clinical symptoms alone as they were taught as students before blood tests were introduced.

Both were 'matter of fact' because they knew clinical symptomsand were expert at assisting patients to return to good health.

Jelley93,

When medicating Levothyroxine for four years I too felt and looked drunk at times. I suffered horrendous vertigo and woke each morning feeling as if someone was poisoning me.

I had days when my legs refused to move quickly, my heart was all over the place and regularly woke me in the night. Once it banged so hard I actually fell over & wondered if my time was up. I had brain fog that added to an existing anxiety making me nervous I might forget where I lived! This was in between several reoccurances of Hashi attacks, sweating, more palps, etc ,etc whilst my Levo dose was raised, decreased, left alone, but nothing made any difference to my symptoms.

Everything improved immediately after adding T3, and went away after I was finally optimised which took about a year because lots needed addressing. I went g/f, optimised all nutrients, decreased iron as I had overload, sorted gut problems, had mercury fillings removed and chelated for 9 months.

I've had a quick glance through your previous posts but can't see any latest bloods? Also, do you know if you've had thyroid antibodies checked?

I've ordered a medi checks thyroid function blood test. Hopefully that'll enlighten me more

Sorry to hear you’re feeling rough, Jelly93. Hopefully your symptoms will start to go away in time.

My worst symptom is brain fog, as radd mentioned, it’s like I’m drunk all the time. Other symptoms I’ve had include fatigue, weight gain, insomnia (actually this might be the worst symptom!) and aching joints.
