Anyone else out there with Gilbert's and hypothyroid?

Hi all.

Wondering if anyone else in the forum has been told they have Gilbert's (usually shown by high bilirubin level but otherwise normal liver function) as well as Hashimoto's.

I've been having a dull pain on the left side of my waist for months now that I think is associated with it. I've had an ultrasound and various blood tests, and nothing's showing up. Anyone had something similar?

I just did two searches - one for gilberts and another for gilbert's. (I don't think the results are identical - but there might be some overlap!)

Re Gilbert's, I was "diagnosed" with that a few years ago when my bilirubin was ~70 with top of normal range 20. Without doing anything specific (besides improved diet and wellbeing), it's been gradually falling with latest ~20. So "Gilbert seems to have left the building"!My Dad was also "diagnosed" with it but insisted it was due to statins taken a few months previously, before stopping. After retesting confirmed Gilbert had also left his building (down to ~15), the GP reluctantly agreed.

The moral of the above is that "Gilbert's" is often used when GPs don't know why bilirubin is above normal. Hope our experiences help.
