TSH: 2.13 (0.3-5.0)
FT4: 14.8 (9-21)
T3: 1.4 (0.9-2.5)
The aim of a treated Hypo patient on Levo only, generally, is for TSH to be 1 or below with FT4 and FT3 in the upper part of their reference ranges.
Your TSH is too high and your FT4 is 48.33% through range. These results are telling you that you are undermedicated and that you need an increase in your dose of Levo - 25mcg now and retest in 6-8 weeks.
It would appear that your T3 result is Total T3, which as you are in Scotland that appears to be the test they do, but Total T3 test isn't a lot of help. It measures both the T3 bound to proteins and Free T3 which is unbound. It is the unbound - free T3 - that is available to the cells and the test that is needed. So yes your Total T3 is low in range (31.25%) but your Free T3 could be better, who knows unless you have it tested.
I'm in Scotland and they always test Ft3 when they test mine - even before I was on combo.
I keep asking for FT:3 and FT4 but gp insists they only do tsh and T4 (t3 at a push) 🤦♀️. Maybe the regions test differently
GPs generally only do TSH and FT4. They do Ft3 only if your results for the other 2 are way out of kilter. The GP says that this is because they do not have the knowledge about T3 and that only endos can prescribe T3 so it is not in their remit to monitor it.
So when my thyroid was way out they did test FT3 not total T3.
Because I'm on combo through an NHS endo they continue to test FT3.
Free T3 or Total T3 queried in previous thread

OP hasn't clarified but that doesn't seem to be a Free T3 range, can you tell us what FT3 range is in your area of Scotland?
Sorry yes I should have said I’m scotland and it’s Total T3 and T 4
Are you sure it's Total T4? That looks very much like a Free T4 range. Blue Horizon's Total T4 range is 66 - 181nmol/L so I would expect something nearer to that. Again, Total T4 result isn't helpful. It's the Frees we need.
This is where I get confused the lab work just says T4 and T3 but I didn’t know if this stood for free or total...?
On the results sheet, if you have a print out, it usually says Free T4 or FT4 or Free T3 or FT3 if they have tested the Frees.
But you could always ask if you are unsure.
Are you the same health board as Lalatoot - Grampian?
