Hello all!
Does anyone have trouble getting back to sleep if they're woken in the night? It took me almost 2 hours to get back to sleep last night.
It's a problem I've literally never had until I started levo!

Yes. I think a lot of us share this . I often wake at 3 or 4 and mostly I don’t get back to sleep at all. Or I drop off again at around 7am which means I’ll soon be woken by my partner getting up.
I have read that it might be due to glucose or cortisol levels and that a fatty snack before bed can help but I haven’t tried it. I think I get woken by the need to pee or the cat demanding pre dawn breakfast . Night sweats don’t help either.
Oh, and re: Levo : I was waking to pee before I started Levo. On 50mcg starter dose my sleep really deteriorated - only sleeping 4 hours a night.
On 75mcg sleep improved slightly to 5 hours a night.
Now on 100mcg I sleep mostly 6 hours a night unless woken by the cat.
So I don’t know whether Levo is the culprit or the saviour.
It's such a puzzle! It's just utterly new to me. Even before my thyroid packed I never had an issue sleeping. I never woke in the night.
Now it's a disaster if I wake! 🤦🏻♀️
I find magnesium taken early evening helps me sleep. I take magnesium glycinate as easy on the stomach.
Thank you! I didn't find magnesium helped so I take it in the morning.
I've no problems getting to sleep at bedtime, just getting back to sleep if I wake. 🥱
