Yes iv seen this list but the pharmacies iv spoken to say they are not all available. Most are saying there are only 3? So I'm wanting clarification which ones are readily here. Thank you
Most pharmacies only deal with some distributors. Hence they only see some of the products as being available.
Also, we have fairly recently seen Creo withdrawn and replaced by Zentiva - though this appears only to be due to takeover of Creo by entive and not a product change.
The least excipients (inactive ingredients) would be achieved by the highest potency product. That is, 125 micrograms per 5 mL. The amount of active ingredient in all thyroid hormone medicines is so small that we can regard the entire product as being composed of the excipients. So a higher potency would mean fewer millilitres of product required for a given dose. There is only a very small variation of ingredients.
I have created, and try to maintain, a document containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and many in other countries.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines.pdf
This document has information about the available thyroid hormones in the UK and, in less detail, around the world.
