Burning scalp

Has anyone experienced a burning scalp whilst having hypothyroidism? I have been on levothyroxine for 15 plus years and am annual bloods in a few weeks. My dosage has varied over the years and I am now on 100mcg daily I do have antibodies so I believe I may have hashimotos. I feel physically fine but in the last couple of days keep getting this burning sensation in the top/back of my head that comes and goes no other symptoms just wondered if any of you wonderful people out there had had similar experiences. Really appreciate any replies Thankyou :)

alysonkerry,

Sorry you haven't received a timely response to your post.

You can always repost your question. Also any recent test results complete with ranges (numbers in brackets) for members comments. There are many members with Hashi.

Ahh Thanku for your response. I know the forum is excellent and usually someone always has some advice to share. Thankfully my burning scalp has dissipated. I was told it was hyper neuralgia and that it probably had been caused by my Covid vaccine but of course no one can be exactly sure. Whether it was because I have hashis or not or whether I would have had the symptoms anyways I don’t suppose I will ever know. Thankyou so much for taking the time to acknowledge my query though take care & stay well. :)

Alyson, I read where your symptoms have subsided. I have a burning sensation in my scalp, some hair loss, all of which began after I received my COVID vaccine. Would you share any treatments or hints that helped you resolve your issue? I would truly appreciate your help. I am very concerned about my condition. Thank you so much, Kathy

Hi there apologies just seen your message I eventually had chiropractic treatment which seemed to solve my burning scalp although I suffered from it for 2-3 weeks trying hot/cold compresses standing under hot/cold showers & taking nsaid meds on and off. Strangely I have had the same symptoms again recently have been to chiro today and she thinks I may have occipital neuralgia go back in 3 weeks but really hoping sensation disappears soon it’s 8 months since I last had it. I’ve since had Covid booster but that was about 6/7 weeks ago although I have been in contact with Covid recently although o constantly tested negative ? Who knows wish I could give you more helpful information but it’s definitely my scalp that feels on fire not a headache although at times it feels like I’ve been hit on the head. When i press on the area that feels like it’s burning it feels hot to the touch and putting pressure on it seems to stop the sensation. Any help or advice off anyone greatly appreciated:))
