I'm due to have my gallbladder removed on Tuesday, and I had blood done on Wednesday morning. Unfortunately, I didn't think they would be testing my Thyroid, so I took my NDT as normal that morning at 6:30.
Today I get a call saying the anaesthetist is concerned because my thyroid results were all skewed. I explained everything to the nurse (I forgot to say if I had known my thyroid was going to be tested, I would have omitted my morning dose). I'm now really concerned they are going to cancel my operation. Has anyone else been in a similar position?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

I do have a Fitbit. So could use that. The nurse is supposed to be phoning me back tomorrow
Unfortunately my last bloods showed my FT3 was slight out of range, I have adjusted my medication since then though. I obviously wasn’t thinking straight the morning I went from my pre op appointment.
Just thought I’d give you an update as you were so kind to help me out.
My operation is going ahead. I was talked to about how it’s not licensed etc, that I should take what I’ve been told to off the GP, that I need to reduce it. I did explain that I had only taken it an hour and a half before my appointment, apparently that doesn’t make any difference. I wasn’t getting into an argument with someone who doesn’t know anything about it. I have agreed to take any risks etc...
Any just wanted to say thank you SlowDragon for responding I was full of worry at the time and it really helped.
I did thank you very much. All done, my medication wasn’t even mentioned yesterday bizarrely, I took an empty bottle with me to so they could see what I take.
I’m a bit sore and tender, but no more attacks thank goodness, they a were very unpleasant.
I’ll never understand their inability to do extra reading and research outside the “curriculum” or to blindly follow guidance and not used clinical judgement. I’m a mental health nurse/psychology student and I never stop learning, and looking outside the box.
Anyway, hopefully you will get home soon. I was pleased to be sleeping in my own bed to be honest. Things can only get better now 😊
Wishing you a speedy recovery. It's amazing what we can do if we know we have support behind us, especially if we all suffer from a dysfunctional thyroid gland.
