I’m hoping someone can advice, I have waited nearly a year for a zoom appointment with endo, the appointment was this afternoon + what a waste of time!
Last July I had blood test done for cortisol + they were just above bottom of range, which I questioned as they were taken just after 9 in the morning + they referred me back to doctor,
I did my own saliva test which came back low morning + three high, I started on adrenal cortex + worked up to 6x tablets + ps100 for high which I continue for 4 months then couldn’t source tablets due to brexit + realized I didn’t feel any better or worse not taking them,
Around the same time I have a zoom call with private endo who prescribed T3 because he thought my problems were because of thyroid issues, I was on thyroxine 150 + he switched me to 50 thyroxine + work up to 40 T3, I didn’t feel good reduced my t3 down to 30 + stayed on 50 thyroxine
The endo today -quote
Didn’t hold with saliva test
NHs doesn’t prescribe T3 !
Told me to come off T3 + when I asked how I should increase thyroxine + decrease T3- she said stop T3 immediately + increase the thyroxine up to my original dose in 1 go so 100 increase surely that’s not right ?
Wanted to blame everything on me being diabetic!
I have posted some results, I’ve managed to get my antibodies down by going gluten free, dairy + eggs
I no longer have the daily diarrhea,I’m still unstable especially in the morning +
Would appreciate thoughts please

Looks like loads of expensive tests there
But no actual thyroid results
Do you have Hashimoto’s
What vitamin supplements are you currently taking
Do you always get same brand of levothyroxine
Which brand
Reducing levothyroxine from 150mcg to 50mcg was massive drop ....
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Low vitamin levels are extremely common, especially if you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) diagnosed by raised Thyroid antibodies
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Is this how you do your tests?
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
